That’s a limited view on the power of transcendent covers
SHOCKED to see Rich Brian pop up on the gum
Why isn’t the whole band in the press photos? This is like no doubt all over again
I hope she’s off twitter for good, that would likely help
Wait so your son’s name is Bruno McFerrin? Cool
His 2021 album was the most popular album of 2021 until 30, so yeah, the normz love this guy
Wait so Billy Ray Cyrus has both the longest running number one song and the longest running number one album of the SoundScan era? Bizarre world
Honestly surprised this didn’t happen sooner. Seems like the writing’s been on the wall since they had to fire Ameer Vann. Dude was a pos to his partners but he was also the best rapper in BH. Like, how do you come back from putting him on the cover of your three most popular records? This group deserved a slightly happier ending
JID is one of the few rappers out here giving me hope
“…a fellow NYC rich kid” never change, Tom. Love it
It’s less about his rapping and it’s all about his beat choice
I would rather inject bleach than listen to any bleachers live performance
Thank you, bigzman342. I’ve half-remembered the reality shoe that documented the making of “The Scorned.” That scene where they throw Johnny FairPlay down the stairs… iconic
Kanye dating Julia fox is the perfect counterpoint to Kim & pete
Now I know you can do better than this! Corn as a Midwest punchline is stale af
I love how Tom is clearly a big SNL fan!
Noticed that too. Could just be a sign that the 2nd half of the year was more newsworthy than the first half
50 Worst Stereogum Comments of 2021 when? I'd love to see meesa represented
I challenge anyone to gather up 10 talented ppl and try to write a song as good as Peaches. A good song's a good song, doesn't matter how many wrote it.
yeah but the worst of VW is still better than the best of AM
Reading his statement gives me flashbacks to rage quitting Neil Young’s Waging Heavy Peace memoir. Love his lyrics but the impressionistic prose is infuriating!
To think 10 years of a rolling stone subscription tried sooo hard to convince me this guy was it… I feel like a dodged a bullet
I have never heard of this band and all the recent coverage feels extremely abstracted to me. Oh well, slow news month in music
Doja Cat signed with Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records in 2014, shortly before Kesha accused him of rape and abuse. Sounds like she was contractually obligated to work with Dr. Luke until she fulfilled the contract. Idk why people are mad at her for that… it’s the fucking industry, man
I feel like jpeg insulted stereogum’s mother because he’s been iced out of these year end lists completely
I love how he fucked up his life at the exact moment when his career was finally picking up steam. What an asshat
Bruv I click on every single Stereogum article because I support this website that much
This is single name/promo pic is doing a lot of work to get clicks
I’m so glad Animal Collective is back and sounding this great! We need this right now
Kinda funny that two different Aretha biopics got noms in the same year. I don’t understand why this didn’t happen with Walk the Line/Walk Hard, but oh well
This is the most energized Ye’s been since the KSG performance at Camp Flog Naw. Let’s gooo
I’m still struggling to process this whole nightmare. Saw Travis in 2018, it was honestly one of the greatest live shows I’ve ever seen. I’ve invested a lot of my fandom in this guy, and I really can’t tell if it’ll ever feel ok to listen to his music again. I guess this is the first time an artist I’ve truly loved with all my heart has been cancelled (for lack of a better term). Shit sucks. And obviously, my heart goes out to all the Astroworld victims and their families. I realize this isn’t *about* me
