It was the song during my senior year in high school. The lyrics summed it up for me during that time and still resonates with me many years later. And I agree with many commenters that the movie is still timeless.
I agree on one point, the misanthrope. Give us fans a few days at least to try and enjoy this album. But to each his or her own in regards to liking it or hating it.
Of course, if you own a physical copy--as I tell people all the time, wipe the back of the disks clean with a specialized cloth and go to your closest Half Price Books.
Judged strictly by the cover and the title, it definitely says summer all the way (oops, I forgot--it usually is summer in southern California most of the year.)
Sad story, but I was lost out on the last statement: "Lovato is developing and starring in Hungry, a new NBC sitcom about a food issues support group." Perhaps I must not have understood that article firsthand, but still Demi needs a lot of help.
Which was better, waiting 10 minutes for The Selection Show to air in announcing the 68 team field for the NCAA Tournament--again to be in a "controlled environment."
The Grammys--seeing fancy tables you would have seen each June during a Playboy Playmate of the Year party, but not as crowded.
The Selection Show--several players and coaches were smart to wear masks. Some schools were in their regular gyms, while a good handful were inside conference rooms to observe proper social distancing.
Really happy for the Lady Gaga-Ariana Grande collaboration with "Rain on Me". But I agree 100 percent with Phoebe, such a shame she couldn't even win one award. At least, we can all see why the voting has been like and will still be the case until newer people are brought in.
Let me be the first to say, let us all guess which performances are live and which ones were pre-recorded:
Harry Styles, yes. Billie Eilish--not quite sure.
Anyways, I am going to enjoy HAIM.
I was surprised that Gwen didn't talk about one of her early No Doubt singles in "Don't Speak." I thought that song was amazing the first time I heard it, and it still resonates well with me today.
This is one of the many reasons that this website is so great. Thank you for sharing, and hopefully more cool music/celebrity type interviews can continue.
Keep in mind that this will take place in and around Los Angeles. Also of note, the show will start less than two hours after the NCAA Tournament brackets are released to the world. Unique times for sure.
Outside of Kasey Musgraves, Maren Morris, and Kelsea Ballerini, I really haven't gravitated into country music too much.
But the lyrics "I wanna make myself a meal/I wanna wake up with you next to me & ask you how you feel/I wanna make us both a meal" is spot on.
Also, am I right for everyone online waiting oh so patiently to hit the open road and (goodness willing) not wear masks, jam those rest areas, grab some snacks and water at those gas stations, watch the front desk clerks process our reservations, waitresses explaining local dishes and giving us directions, making sure to make the correct turn at 25 MPH immediately after descending from any bridge, etc.
Still, it is great to hear from the Ratboys again.
Wolf Alice gets my vote with "The Last Man on Earth." With the way they teased the song on social media, my first thought that it was going to be their next album title. Instead, the album will be called "Blue Weekend."
Go figure, right?
Next thing you know, when another popular group calls it quits--we will probably give off comments along the like of, 'Well, it was nice knowing them back in the day', or 'Don't tell me...this is actually happening?'
Add to that list Natalie Prass, The Weather Station, Lana Del Rey, Sharon Van Etten prior to her 2019 breakout album "Remind Me Tomorrow." The indie list continues to grow, even in the middle of this being the worst pandemic of our lives.
