I’m sad I watched Ryan Seacrest for a couple minutes instead of this cuz I didn’t know how to properly work the hotel remote. Miley seems fun. I think I’ve had my fill of Pete Davidson.
I’ve already prepared my resume for the position. I’m going to be the next Grimes, folks. Same content but more George Smiley references and bootleg enamel pin links.
This has been a wonderful Christmas so far. First time spending the holidays with my family in 4 or 5 years. Got myself a sick Tascam DR-05X to make field recordings to mix into songs/ambient stuff. Made my girlfriend a couple mixtapes for her birthday a few days ago, and the new Chvrches vinyl for xmas (one of our first conversations was me recommending this album to her which was a hit). 5 months sober in a couple days. 2022 might still be on fire all throughout, but I feel like it's kind of a comeback year for me. As always, stay cool n safe gumfolk.

*very Obama voice* “I love Villeneuve‘s work. I really do. But it’s possible that the film was too close to the source material without exploring the minutiae that made Herbert’s vision so truly captivating”
As someone who digs the occasional rap album, but by no stretch of the imagination follows the genre, I’ve really noticed this. I feel like there were many weeks where the best songs of the week lists were largely hip hop, but I don’t feel like I ever see that translate to end of the year lists or from the commentariat generally. I’m all for getting the word out on these artists, but it does seem a little disingenuous? 🤷♀️
